There's not enough shitting on Disney's Star Wars.
They were doing a very obvious critique of "toxic male fans" in the audience with Kylo Ren.
Kylo is what Disney thought a Star Wars fanboy was, worshipping the remains of Darth Vader's mask and larping as a Sith.
Rey reads his mind (what the women in charge of these movies thought they were doing to the audience) and sees he wants to be like Darth Vader/calls him out on being afraid he'll never be as cool or powerful as Darth Vader.
I never wanted to be Vader. I looked up to Luke.

I actually liked the guy they got to play young Han. I thought that he did a good job of portraying someone who could turn into the guy we saw in Star Wars, but green enough to not quite be there. Especially since in Star Wars we see that Han's cool act in the cantina is him massively bullshitting and playing cool whereas he's actually desperate for the dough to get Jabba off his back.
It felt right.

The TIE Advanced, Interceptor, bomber, and fighter all looked distinct from one another - this is just a tie fighter with an extension on the main fuselage.
I would've accepted the TIE Striker though.

Porgs are so cool, funny and great design. So memorable and my family always laughs when I bring them up, it's like a running joke. I bought dozens of them. I've got half of them still boxed and graded they are sure to be collectors items.

I like the lightsaber blades actually glowing, and how they sounded for the most part. Sadly, dragged down by the terrible fight choreography. What little of it we did get was easily outclassed by the other six films.

This is the only truly good Star Wars related thing Disney has produced.
Obviously it's meant for children, but it's the only positive, creative, non-nihilistic/non-subversive thing they've done with the series.

Nobody at Disney gives a shit about this Tibetan Yak seman trading site. Anyways, I'm just happy we got any new content. As I always assumed the IP was pretty much dead in the water before it was sold off. Yeah yeah a huge chunk of it has been absolute trash but it's tween space opera popcorn stuff. I've never expected new starwars to age/grow with the fan base.
It's like $5 frozen pizza or corn dogs in an air fryer sort of junk food movies. You already know what to expect. That said I still don't get was Obi-Wan Kenobi was soooo bad or why they did space mopeds and space horses in projects.

Also Rey's lightsaber. The color of the handle and the gold of the blade, the fact that it's her staff being repurposed, the new cleaner sound of ignition and the mechanism being a nut that rotates to open the iris. It's beautiful and I'm so fucking bummed that we didn't see more of it and also a little upset that it wasn't a double bladed gold one, that would have fit the whole staff fighter theme better.
