It's a bold move to make a movie for a superhero nobody ever cared about

My sister (who is white) was very much into Shang-Chi. She kept talking about how sexy he was after we left the theater.

Boring, feckless movie led by a complete jackass, a talentless commie fuck. That little shit stated publicly that Martin Scorsese has no right to criticize the f MCU.

The bus scene is the MCU's best fight scene, but the movie goes to shit when it replaces the villain with the CGI monster.

Not THAT bold considering the capeshit explosion. I know comics weren't some obscure thing before the mcu, but nerds love to pretend that superheroes were way more common knowledge than they really were.

No one knew who the fuck Dr. Strange or the Gaurdians of the Galaxy were. The movies made these into ips everyone knows.
>but lots of people liked comics already! I knew about Dr. Strange so that means he was popular!
Yeah okay, great. Lots of people liked Digimon too but your fucking grandma could recognize Pikachu without being able to name that little faggot dinosaur. That's the difference.

Basically it wasn't some crazy idea to take lesser known heroes like Shang Chi and make them mainstream hits because they had successfully done it several times shortly before.

They obviously made this one for China. Which was a terrible miscalculation because China rejected it and now this character has no purpose.

China hates everything that americans do to represent them because they feel it always comes out as a racist stereotype (even if its actually accurate)
the bug self-hate is real

Dr. Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy had their own fans within the comic book fandom. There were a fair share of popular stories for both and GotG had a particularly well received run around when the movie was announced. Shang-Chi is just one of the random C-listers you see pop up in some other more popular street level superheroes book on rare occasion. Like even fucking Eternals had that one Neil Gaiman thing that people liked.

You really just can't please someone with a weird superiority complex. Everything you do to describe them will be called an insult to them no matter what

It would have been cool if they had stuck to the source and made a badass Bruce Lee type. But of course they had to make him bagel faced and feminine. Of course.

Chane HATES American movies specifically made for China. They see it as pandering and borderline insulting. And they are correct.
