When this show started, yes it had the normal CW problem of 30-40% of the show being a bunch of overly-pretty rich people complaining about how rich and bored they are.

But for the chunks of it that he was actually out doing stuff, he was legit just straight up murdering people. Like, not even a hint of hesitation about going out and putting broadhead arrows into random criminals. It was pretty good for that.

Then it just got really gay and dropped all that stuff. Also I find it funny how like, I don't think they pre-wrote or knew what to do with his "mysterious past" so at first he was just going Tom Hanks on a deserted island, but then it turned into progressively more and more crazy LOST-type shit and like, bro you should have given this bit up 3 seasons ago, just stop with the perpetual flashbacks. That's one thing I can't stand in storytelling, how it's only as time goes on, that the flashbacks also progress in time. They can never show the end of that arc in a flashback early on, because they haven't written it yet, so you can only have chronological flashbacks.

I remember watching this and Flash episodes with /tv/ every week when a new episode premiered and then just fucking lost track of it after S4 of Arrow and S3 of Flash. Jumped the shark too hard. There's such a thing as being too comic-like

They did it to the Kryptonians in the recent Superman movie and cartoon, they did it to Thomas Wayne in joker, and they did it to Luke when they're revealed he tried to kill kylo. So cynical
