Yeah I haven't really enjoyed any new movies since the 2008 recession. For a long time my cope was that, well, There Will Be Blood is pretty good, but after awhile I realized 2007 was a long time ago. Then The Lighthouse was released and I've used that as an example of a movie that's new and alright, but I just realized even that is from the last decade lmao

Is there any good movie from the 20s? I almost enjoyed both Barbarian and Heretic but they're horror slop and kind of reddit tier. I need to watch something new.

The vast majority of the film is highly entertaining, borderline dark comedy with Scorsese's because of how cynically and lackadaisically murders escalates to a point where they start to kill even each other for property rights. Not to mention how FBI arrival exposes the entire upper layer of perpetrators as amatures opportunists who genuinely could not give less of a fuck in terms of moral scruples.
There are some bizarre ADR volume issues that I frankly found baffling for someone like Scorsese to have, but you are too stupid to notice those.

I was talking about this the other day with my movie autist friends. I pretty much stopped going to theaters around 2013ish because the quality of movies just wasn't worth it. Last movie I saw in theaters was Top Gun Maverick, before that was 1917.
