What other examples are there where the theatrical cut was superior to the extended version?

there are no examples of that, normiatrical cuts are for people who stuff their face with popcorn for 90 minutes and then move on to the next scheduled activity.

Honestly, this. Stone swears by his version but all that added shit just subtracted from the film for me.

Midwit take.

Pretty much any comedy. Anchorman and Friday are examples that pop into mind.

Amadeus.
Lets kill the pacing and make the protagonist a creepy faggot for no reason other than to show nice tits.
Actually, that one scene was based, the rest sucked and dragged the film.

Pacing is important for the enjoyability of movies and brevity is the soul of wit.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Payback (not extended but to the director's cut)

T2. The added scenes ruin the flow of the movie. The good, the bad, the ugly. The added scenes were just shitty

Donnie Darko - being hyper obtuse is better than overexplaining everytthing

This is a "Director's" Cut in name only, Ridley Scott always said that his version of the movie is the theatrical cut, the DC is him just doing Fox a favour and giving them a different version so they can have an easier time marketing the re-release

Payback is a weird one. The entire last segment of the movie is completely different, including the entire ending. It's almost like a different movie, much more gritty and bleak. It was interesting to watch, but I much prefer tge theatrical version.

All of them. Kingdom of Heaven DC is the one example I can think of and that's only unwatchable -> tolerable.

I honestly disagree. I love the extended cut of T2.

Mallrats is a huge one. Amusing, somewhat charming 7/10 movie but the extended cut scenes make it a 3/10. Fucking awful.

French dinner scene is the most important scene of the entire movie, shows that french "rightwing" mafia types had major investments in Vietnam and were a thorn in the side of french leftist, who wanted to give vietnam back to the commies so right wing french can't control the heroin trade and fund "rightwing" politics back in france

it nails the whole "we're going back in time" theme, until what's left is kings gods magicians, heavy Joseph Campbell shit. it transcends whatever political bullshit there is.

The only exception I am aware of is Blade Runner. Director's Cut is perfect and the only version I have watched, on the cardboard case dvd I bought.

People cutting movies the first time are usually good at it. It's their passion & profession. Probably paid a pittance, and to them enough to do what they like doing and being involved with something special: enough.

Some movies are fucked and fanedits fix them. But studios etc after the fact are after money, and to push niggers etc. Parasites on top make bad decisions. They fuck things, that is their passion. Money. Judaism. They should be taken out and hacked to death by everything that is less because of them. Completely cut off from everything else. Fuck themselves. Unable to fuck anything else.

Live action Ghost in the Shell like everything shit could be edited into something ok. There is one that cuts out Nigeria, the entire African continent bombed, family sequence for gook endorsement: absent. I haven't seen it but it could be ok.

Some movies pushing govt etc homosexuality could have the sci fi or whatever removed from Botswana and put together into something, them together making the true story of advancement by itself, coward nigger like catholic you get the picture. The adverse to what was used to sell them: unincluded.

Basis for the present and future. Right without confusion.

Asia, Africa, America, every degenerate absorbent entity defended against. Good pure on show, telling tales of complexity and humanities survival.

That's not how decison making works though, a lot of the time those people are cutting good scenes because test audiences didn't respond the right way or some marketing VP thinks a 2h movie will result in a 0.9% better ROI than a 2h23m one
