New Blood is unironically a much better series than Resurrection. I can almost guarantee that Resurrection will have an underwhelming cliffhanger finale that causes all of the current gushing fanboys to retroactively adjust their opinion of the series. It's always been the cycle with seasons of Dexter, except in the case of Original Sin which was so sanitised that nobody really bothered to form any strong opinion of it.

Dexter: Original Sin was the most disappointing thing since my son. I mean, how much more could you possibly fuck up the entire backstory to Dexter? And while my son eventually hanged himself in the bathroom of the gas station, the unfortunate reality of the Dexter prequel is that it will be around. Forever. It will never go away. It can never be undone.

Spoilers somehow they managed to make him gay in a way which made sense and just fit into the plot. Some people probably guessed pretty easily he wasn't avenging a partner in crime or a brother/son etc and then there's the Dex/Hannah complicated muh love thing and Isaak ends up giving advice to Dex. And they become friends just before Isaak dies because the mob has already abandoned Isaak.

Too bad everything in season 7 is all over the place and the plot points close too quickly often. Iirc Isaak dies in episode 10 or 11, so the final episodes then just jumps into being all about Laguerta like it was a different season.
