The difference is night and day. I watched the theatrical ver. and hated the movie for like a decade until I saw Rob's ver. and it became my second favourite Halloween movie. Theatrical cut is the director's one but with all the character drama removed. So the entire point of the movie, i.e. exploring what would the mental state of a final girl be after the camera cuts away, is completely gone. One of my fav things about it is Rob's genius idea of intercutting actual childhood footage of Danielle Harris in with her death scene. But that's not in the theatrical version... that version as a whole is basically just the dumbass studio thinking they needed to remove all the sadness from what is supposed to be a sad movie. Laurie doesn't even die, it's just stupid.

Rob's Halloween 2 made less than half what the first one did at the box-office too. If it performed better he probably would have been able to make a third. Pretty crazy that he started shooting H2 in late February 2009 and it got its theatrical release in late August the same year, 6-months later. That's impressive.

Stephen King junk is so hit or miss. His material is actually usually pretty decent, but when some fag tries to adapt his shit into a screenplay it’s a complete coin toss whether it’s going to suck or not.
