Marvel gave theaters an extra decade of relevancy but that's it. They do not need to exist anymore.

The tech trend is for shorter and shorter content that is addicting, not scripted long form content.

After social media became our dominant media form, "event films" were the only thing that could get people in their seats. Big super hero films were it. Marvel and Disney bungled it by making them lame and gay, but that's post 2020.

these days there's tons of movies like this:
it's just a sheboon on the front cover, and you just refuse to watch it, instantly.
Anonymous No.214003989
I mean, come on, look at this movie cover...
the movie may aswell be called "The SHEBOON"

it's getting harder and harder to come up with an original concept
I had an idea a while back for a movie about the captcha showing your death
guy starts getting photos of his street sign and then photos of trucks with blood smeared all over the front something like that
but then I realized, this is just Final Destination. It's a unique Final Destination, but it's just the same movie about one guy cheating his own death or multiple people cheating their death as the captcha tries to kill them
so honestly I can see why it's hard to make a new original movie that's not based on anything and cant be compared to some other movie out there that came first and did better
what about a serial killer that kills serial killers? been done. What about that same concept but there's a cop that's figured out his identity and is on his trail? been done. What about a movie about super heroes but it's found footage dark and gritty? been done.
Anything you can think of has likely been done before or sounds suspiciously like another movie

thanks for your input but by that logic, youre kinda wrong because there is only three ways to tell a story, man v man, man v nature, man v time (or be a psued like nolan and replace nature with time). DEi gets memed but it do extreme harm. where people can stand speakin to eachother, who can speak etc etc. Im more akin to agree with the anon social media won and the short form content over longer scripted wins out. Is it really that bad though, i just bought an giant OLED and i plan on catching up on the backlog of films i have

This
Have you tried writing a script with a budget? It's pretty much impossible to make interesting unless you have the craziest idea imaginable. Even halfway decent ideas are impossible to shoot now. Everything has to be 3-5 actors, one location, minimal effects. All you can do with that if off-screen shit.

I still see kinos now and again but yes it's very grim
good time to watch old shows you ignored from the past
I'll probably watch The Wire next, I never got to it.

>boring af with stupid Snyder's ultraslow scenes and the retarded grey filter
>actors act like ghettoniggers, gives you fatigue

Nah. Get ready for my short blog post.
Richard Osman, co-host of Pointless, turned author, has been talking for the last few years about how his first book is being turned into a Spielberg produced movie. Now the movie's coming out...on streaming. If movies don't even come out at the cinema then the few movies that DO can't be blamed for cinema dying.

thats a direct ramification of the 2008 WGA concessions. Without syndication for television shows and residuals/royalties for DVD sales, back catalog is going to have to suffice.

Yeah, but what happens when all the old directors who made their name before the slop era retire. There are virtually no millennial or Gen Z directors, who are established enough to actually get an innovative and original film made outside of horror
