It's based off a YA novel with a primary demo of teen girls. It's about an Asian American girl coming of age and trying to choose between the two hot chads who are both into her now that they're going through puberty even though they've always been summertime friends (since there moms are friends). Pretty standard YA stuff. There's also some minor stuff about the protag's family trying to fit in with the rich WASPy New England upper middle class.

They don't own the house, it belongs to the family of the two brothers who are into the protag and the protag and her family are invited their every summer. It's also wish fulfillment for teen girls, so the protag is purposely left as kind of a blank slate and doesn't face much adversity compared to the other characters besides the normal anxieties of a teen girl. That is one of the issues I do have with it though. The others are that it tries to generate a ton of viral moments/tiktok clips (you'll notice this most with the top100 soundtrack) and flanderizes characters as a result. I haven't seen the newest season, apparently there's a massive timeskip since the actors aged (no idea why modern shows release like this).

I grew up in a fairly wealthy area. Even in higher income brackets, you’d be shocked at how many people are over extended on loans and effectively living paycheck to paycheck.

My friend's family beach house in Sandbridge VA is like 1.3 million. A beach house in Martha's Vineyard is probably double or triple that easily

I want to know how universal it is that the male love interests have *already* developed their professional abilities/are already guaranteed wealth, and whether or not there are major works out there where the male love interests *actively develops* a talent/skill
