It's one of the first dubbed anime we got that aired on open television. It also has pretty good voice acting. There used to be a small group of voice actors, to the point that any dubbed movie had the same people and everyone would be "hey Goku voices Bruce Willis".

There's also some mexican fan dubs of Dragon Ball clips which are way funnier than TFS, like the whole "saga de los albañiles" (construction worker saga).

I can actually play the games with English dub and I still recommend Funi Kai as the easiest way to see the series, but the original Funimation dub is pretty bad even if we're not talking about the Faulconshit soundtrack. I think it's so funny how whenever a new character comes out in DB or One Piece or Hero Macadamia, people will post a "hey the English VA is actually good" because so much of the old guard from the early Funi days haven't fucked off yet and the new blood is significantly better.

TFS’ strength was always in warping characters, having them bounce off each other and then being able to dispose of them before the character’s specific joke got old.
