There's really no good reason beyond George forgot or needed to keep Obi Wan and Qui Gon separated for the plot to advance.
If it helps, just headcanon that he super jumped onto the platform seconds before, so he had a cooldown. He lost his master, but was able to flow-state and defeat Maul.

There was a really old YT vid of First Person View from a Jedi's perspective and when he was using super speed you literally stop being able to see where you are heading because it blurs. If he had used superspeed he would've fallen into that chasm.

Force speed to run through the laser doors that close slowly would be to risky, running at regular human speed is way safer.
Some kid pilots absurdly fast land crafts and avoids slamming into all obstacles by using the power we use to force speed in the same movie yeah. But, that's different.

I assume that sometimes the jedi are using speed force but we just don't see it because the camera is speeding up too. Jedi are probably so fast that they would just look like a blur all the time if you tried to watch one fight in person.

That scene was dumb, but the lightspeed kamikaze was great. I'm not a Star Wars fan, so I imagine there is some lore quarrelling why this wouldn't be possible, but frankly who cares. Star Wars is popcorn cinema. What's the point of lore if it can't have cool scenes like that?
