I watched every single episode of that show. It wasn't a bad show or anything, but I'm sick and tired of threads saying it's as good as or better than The Wire/Sopranos/Breaking Bad, etc.
It was a perfectly good show with one foot firmly planted in the weekly procedural genre and one foot in the big story arc field. But it aired the same years as Wire and it's simply an apples and oranges argument. Those other shows were better at not wasting any moments or any lines of dialogue, while The Shield had a lot of useless and stupid banter. But that's just my opinion. I didn't think it was a very smart show for smart people. But it was fine. It was good. It just wasn't great.
