From stole their thunder. It's about a bunch of people who get trapped in a town filled with monsters. A SH tv show should follow a similar tragectory:
>Guy is drawn to the town and gets trapped there but separated from his daughter >goes around chasing clues to find her >finds more people >everyone has their own stories >some guy trapped for years there >whole town is a mystery >uncover more of the town's mystery, and if his daughter and others >of course: the order >but also spooky town lore and past >episodes are them travelling to other parts and buildings to search for clues >monsters roam the town, make nests in buildings >get worse at night so you don't want to be out at night >melee combat with iron pipes and objects, but one person has a handgun and 32 rounds they have to share >firearms are very rare and very cherished

Question 1 how many episodes would it take to actually get to the town of Silent Hill?
Question 2 from there how long would take from then to get to the fog world?
Question 3 from there how long would it take for Pyramid Head to show up?
We can't just show up in the town and start see monsters without loads of backstory lore and character drama, this isn't Surf Dracula.

i think the series actually lends itself better to film format
each game is its own detached storyline with a fairly simple story and only a few characters to keep track of
if you made each game into a season of a tv show you'd probably end up dragging it out way too long, there aren't enough plotlines happening simultaneously

The show would probably cold open with Harry (Harriet knowing shit tv nowadays) waking up in fog world. Pyramid Head at the end of the first season finale.

Alien Earth has been quite good so far. Apparently he doesn't considered Promethus and Covenant or 3 to be canon which really sells him as being a good pick.

No it wouldn't. Video games are unironically the best medium for horror because the player has full agency, which means they're responsible for their choices and making the choice to continue despite fear. It's not like a movie where you're passively watching the characters make dumb decisions. Books are a close second because imagination is strongly at work, while film is the worst medium for horror.
They couldn't replicate anything like the first time Harry enter the night or the cat jumpscare no matter how hard they tried. That's not to even mention the soundtrack. SH1 was one of a kind.
