A lot of people these days do mumble like they’re retarded. It’s weird. Is that bad socialization or what? It’s not everyone.

chopsticks are just a better way to eat in general even if youre trained with them or not. you have to take small bites usually which moderates you. and theyre just tongs so you can grab pieces of food with it from a communal tray easier than stabbing it

they only repeat things that the audience needs to know (usually 2 or 3 times), they don't repeat

no way anyone would remember addresses or complicated directions under duress spoken once

>>214018941
easy to stop, just think of how silly you'll remember yourself in the future for doing this now, instead of just shushing your co-pilot brain for berating yourself for past events that are finished and instead engaging in useful thoughts

They always did. If they didn't in your country, you might come from some third-world shithole with terrible ADR overcorrecting reality.
I bet you also watch things dubbed into your native, for you can't read - not just subtitles, read in general
Anonymous No.214020563 >>214020607
>>214014663
I never have problems watching old movies without subtitles because they actually speak clearly. I used to think it was that Transatlantic accent thing but that's just literally how people talked back then. It's hilarious people think it's made up for TV/movies. Back in the day 99% of how you communicated with people was with your words so you'd make damn sure people heard you loud and clear back then.

There are recordings of like, union meetings from the 40s and it sounds identical to a movie, sounds like some 12 angry men type shit lol

people in older movies had to enunciate and project properly, due to audio recording and reproduction having some degree of distortion. but the most important thing is actors also did theatre, which is where they learn to properly enunciate and project by literally having to speak in a way an entire theatre can hear. a lesser number of actors today do theatre, and the ones that do are going to be the good ones, and usually older ones.

Absolutely true, but also people just talked like how you're supposed to speak at a theater. Not with as loud a voice obviously but the intonation used in day to day life back then is the same we consider "theatre speak" today

yeah, nowadays people (millenials and zoomers) tend to speak very fast to get the phrase out as quickly as possible, and with a monotone. old people used different intonations for different syllables of the same word, spoke every syllable, and left space between words, which helps with understanding. school teachers and public speakers will usually naturally do this too, as well as having stronger vocal chords from speaking for long times which helps them be understood
