It's definitely the best Batman fight scene on film. And if you listen carefully, you'll notice that whenever Batfleck takes damage, he grunts like he's pushing out a huge shit. Maybe he needs some fiber supplements in that utility belt.

My second favorite batfight is, surprisingly, Battinson's entrance at the beginning of The Patman. I'm actually surprised it made it past the Woke Screening Committee that dominated the rest of the production, because of the obvious racial undertones. Please, give the people what they want, let's see more of Batman just beating the shit out of realistic street gangs, we don't even need a Joker. Just give us a Friendly Neighborhood Batman who ensures we can walk to the corner store without getting mugged, assaulted, raped, or worse.

The element I like is Patman's boots, which aside from the gaiters appear to be bog standard army combat boots, which seems appropriate for a young Batman just starting out, still perfecting his kit, using off-the-shelf items instead of custom designed billionaire shit.....

Combined with the sound, weight, the heaviness of those boots as he approaches the goons in the opening fight scene. This is not a ghost trying to secretly appear, this is a monster who does not give a fuck if you hear him coming. He's not a ninja, he's a freight train. Pretty satisfying opening even if the rest of the movie goes downhill.

Keatman's slightly psychotic edge is often underappreciated, but there's another aspect too which I never see mentioned: the "Clark Kent" factor. To explain..... Keaton's Bruce Wayne is the last person in the world you'd expect to be Batman. But when he puts on the suit, it's a complete transformation, physically as well as mentally. (Even if it's just a bunch of plastic padded fake muscles, the movie makes it convincing somehow.) Batman 1989 has a Jekyll-Hyde undertone that has never been explored on film since, as if Wayne's childhood trauma has given him a serial-killer like compulsion that he releases as The Bat.
