He's not making another film. It takes him twice as long to make them these days coz of his age. He doesn't have enough years left in him to get another one finished.
Plus he hasn't made a good one since 1997.

Unless you're the intended audience (Miyazaki made it for his friend's 10 year old daughter) then i don't understand how you can praise it so highly. It's a technically impressive film but it's clearly shoujo slop for little girls.

Spirited Away ruined the entire medium and opened the floodgates for countless shmaltzy "prestige" films for easily manipulated women by the likes of Makoto Shinkai and Mamoru Hosoda.

The insane idea to hire a beat boxer to make fart noises for all the sounds in that movie completely ruined it.
