I really despised this film. I wanted it to be good. I'm not a fan of Zach Snyder. Unfortunately Gunn is worse in many entirely predictable ways.

Loved it. I like nice Superman. A lot of heart. Can’t wait to see more from James Gunns dcu.

How is Lex Luthor free again and acting openly when he was hiding underground in the first movie and sent back to jail in the second movie?
Why isn't Jimmy a photographer anymore?
I won't even start on where the robots in the Superman cave came from, why it's in Antarctica now instead of Arctica, and the many other illogical things that directly contradict the first two movies.

Just preordered the blu ray. Great film and will be a great addition to my collection.

Really fun. I enjoyed the fight scenes especially. They nailed the sound and feel of the impacts this time, and the way Superman fights is much more interesting than usual.

The Justice Gang was also great. As more imperfect heroes compared to Superman, they're just imperfect enough to still be very likeable and heroic. After years of genius characters that are either insufferable or pushovers, Mr. Terrific hits the perfect balance between arrogance and confidence and he doesn't go around being a jerk to people for no reason. Guy Gardner comes off as kind of a dick and a glory hound, but he's fundamentally a decent guy and knows when to drop the attitude. Hawkgirl is a bit of a nothing character, but eh, she's really into fighting and killing things I guess.

It was alright. 6/10. I liked the themes and it had some nice moments, like Lois seeing Clark's room and the chat with Pa Kent and the ending. Was way too much of a "Here's all the characters you can expect in this universe" movie otherwisde and the weird fisheye wide angle lens they used for much of the closeups was bizarre. I think the main guy is a good Superman though.

Verdict: Just go watch the 1978 one again

Just watched it. Cinematography is all over the place, the script thinks everybody's braindead and it comes to a point with CGI were you'd be better off making straight up animation.
Terrific and Luthor's gf were pretty great.

none of the destruction in general has any weight to it because nobody is ever in danger. the kaiju is such a nonthreat that he destroys a few EMPTY parked cars and superman has time to save fucking squirrels. the pocket universe activates an evacuation that's so effective that the only civilians shown to be in danger are the woman cab driver (kino moment) and some people in a park across the bay being like "ohhh nooo this thing that's a few mines away is gonna get to us too we're not gonna escape in time and die ;(", oh and the israeli army attacking the palestinians don't actually kill anyone either
