Because the movie is about the justice system, not about the murder.

From what we're told, the kid probably did it, but the evidence presented in the courtroom all ended up being just faulty enough that we can't be 100% sure, so the correct choice is to vote not guilty

>I am felt stupid for not getting the point of the movie?
The movie was just meant to be about how discrimination and biases are wrong. Everyone in the jury was bringing their outside biases and problems into the case rather than take it on its merits.

Autists however will focus on how everything that Juror 8 did is technically majorly wrong. Which is accurate, because a lot of the stuff he did would break protocol and also he was essentially acting like defense counsel. But this ignores: suspension of disbelief and how the movie was a drama more about other themes.

Who did the murder doesn't matter.

Nothing he did broke protocol. He didn’t introduce evidence, as he isn’t an attorney and the judge wasn’t involved and his identical knife wasn’t labeled exhibit FU in the official record.

Jury deliberations are essentially a black box, case goes in, verdict comes out, and whatever happens in deliberations stays in deliberations unless someone commits another crime.

You guys are autists that think "beyond reasonable doubt" means 100% certainty. The evidence against the accused is more than enough in this case, the idea that the knife being not one of a kind somehow nullifies that incredibly strong evidence is comical. good job you got mind fucked by jews. "reasonable doubt' doesnt mean 'lol if its not 100% certain then let him go lmao'.

It means "dont prosecute people solely on hearsay or coincidence or whatever social bullshit is going around that the aristocracy is pushing even though it really isnt law" which is what the british court did and still does and which the founders absolutely hated. If this event had happened 20 years earlier and was real life, even if the jew got the jury to give up the crowd would have still lynched the wop because he was clearly guilty. >These plays are all, generically, “gang dramas.” That is, formally, they do not differ from their (generally coeval) counterparts on the comedy side, the films of the Marx Brothers. In the gang drama the protagonist or hero is split into many parts, each part (or character) standing for a different aspect of the hero’s consciousness. These warring factions (as the opposed factions of the consciousness in the individual) must work from their initial irreconcilable positions, to find unity where none could have been suspected. (They may be aided in the struggle if “snowbound at an inn,” as they have conveniently been provided with “no way out.”) At the end of the gang drama, the individuals (the play and thus, the audience) have seen unity established and, so, are made more whole.

It not being "unique" doesn't mean shit either - plenty of people own the same type and size of shoes, but shoeprints are still admissible evidence.
If I own a grey F-Series, multiple people hear me scream "I'M GOING TO RUN YOU OVER" to a person, and then that same person is run over by a grey F-Series and my grey F-series has mysteriously vanished and I have no idea what happened to it, and my only alibi is "I was at the movies for 5 hours and nobody there remembers me and I also don't remember the movies I just saw in the last 5 hours" then it's not reasonable to say "well there's a reasonable doubt because a grey F-Series isn't unique"

Jurors are not infallible (especially fictional jurors). You know you're allowed to have your own opinion, right?

You're wasting your time, this is the kind of retard who thinks OJ was innocent "because the jury didn't convict"

>It matters greatly because the knife has so few identifying factors to actually link it to the knife the people knew the defendant to have, other than the way it looks
I haven't seen this movie in a while but I'm pretty sure there was expert testimony that the stab wounds were perfectly consistent with the knife and the jurors were all in agreement that that exact model of knife was used in the murder

that's literally what innocent means, retard

"not guilty" and "innocent" are not the same thing legally
You can even be found innocent in a trial despite actually being guilty, because people are fallible

You misread, I'm not suggesting the murder weapon was wrong. There was no way to prove the knife found at the scene was the one the defendant was known to have owned, other than witnesses recognizing the shape, size and design of it, and some people concluding that they've never seen that specific style before (none of them being knife experts).

It can be inferred that the defendant owning the same model of knife is a known fact of the jurors, including the one trying to exonerate him. Also the person who sold him the knife was one of the witnesses, probably the best witness you could conceivable choose. I'm curious what you would consider to be stronger material evidence than what they had on the guy? The knife is about as good of evidence as it gets for the '50s

I'd love to see this movie from the perspective of the lawyer

obviously you need 4K video camera footage from 4 different angles of the crime, as well as a signed and spoken confession (also filmed in 4K from 4 different angles) but since these can also be fabricated by AI, the only way to be sure will be if God Almighty appears in court to testify
