A City of Sadness

A movie about Chiang Kai-shek's Kuomintang dictatorship in Taiwan during the infamous White Terror regime from 1947 to 1987 when it was under martial law. In case anyone knows where the term White Terror comes from, it's been used multiple times thought history, starting with the French revolution and aftermath with the first White Terror being implemented by royalists, with White being the royal color of House of Bourbon, on the population to counter the revolution. Kai-shek isn't in the film, but his regime is.

Anyway sad movie, it has the theme of the fascism in the background but is more about mental alienation, pointlessness of life, death.
Or it can be about anything it's an artistic movie, you interpret it. It just made me sad and I had those ideas in my head once it was over. I was upset.
