For movies it was 2015 and I watched Star Wars The Force Awakens. Though it didn't materialize the romantic interest of Rey was the black storm trooper. I thought, well damn why in hell did they fuck this up.

I miss being a kid and becoming obsessed with a movie, where my parents would have to stop me from watching it over and over again. I also miss when movies where relevant culturally, and you could talk to people about stuff you've seen, or share recommendations. In the 2010's, it became all capeshit, and now people don't even really care about movies. Nowadays, I still enjoy movies when I manage to force myself to watch one, both high and low brow. But it does feel like I'm a loner holding on to a dying art.

Once I started to heavily multitask while watching them. Seriously, I've started watching movies without checking my phone or surfing the net, and I'm actually enjoying them again. I also started reading books as well, which seem to help concentrating/appreciating the movies.
