Not deliberately antagonizing them would probably be a good start.
Personally though I'm just not interested in watching reboot after reboot after lazily greenscreened reboot of franchises that are more than 50 years old. Decades ago Disney was mainly known for children's films, and they were known for putting real care into the quality of their films. They made films that appealed to both boys and girls. The storytelling was straightforward and earnest and aligned with universal values.
They seem terrified to make anything that isn't subversive now, they're so terrified of cliche that they avoid everything that appeals to most audiences. No heroes, no romance, no values. I think most families would still rather show their kids a Disney film from 60 years ago than anything they've made in the last decade.
They've lost their creative identity, they've lost their quality control, they've lost their soul, and all they seem to do now is take properties that people love and do their best to bastardize them and hollow them out and run them into the ground until they've wrung every possible penny out of the brand name.
tl;dr - Make good movies again. Try that.
