from the first episode I hated walter and though he was a piece of shit. anyone with a half developed brain would know that was the message - that the cancer was just a means to act how he wanted all along. he admits directly to the audience in the final episode. sorry you're a retard and even this blatant of a confirmation is to hard to grasp.

Because he was always evil you fucking retard. He was always a narcissist held back by cowardice. Breaking Bad isn't him become more evil, it's him becoming more confident.

Remember in the first season when they're scouting for methylmine and Walt tells Jesse "this is the first day of the rest of your life." Jesse in that moment is like how Walt was his entire life, just cowardly, hesitant.

A man who isn't a pathetic ego would have never even quit Gray Matter in the first place, or would have just gotten a better job than a chemistry teacher to provide for his family. Seriously, Walt is shown as having human calculator level intellect, and to have contributed to a nobel prize. He did not have to be a chemistry teacher, he was just too much of a pussy pushover.

Or at the very least just accepted the money from Gretchen and Elliot, since that isn't a handout no matter how you look at it.

A good man wouldn't have entered into a life of crime ruining the lives of everyone he came into contact with.

I don't think they said how he had a falling out with grey matter, in any case it turned out very poorly for him and he's been a productive member of society his whole life while reaping very little reward. Not sure how you construe that as him being evil.

I don't agree, Jesse is a grown man and can make his own decisions. Walter is actually a positive force in his life at the beginning and causes him to get clean. Jesse is already just narrowly avoiding arrest in the very first episode and is clearly lost without Walt

walter consistently shows condescension and egoism - part of it is warranted because he is quite smart. but he victimized himself as a tortured genius who didn't the life he felt he deserved - though many of them were his own making. he leaves his girlfriend, who was deeply in love with him and implied to still carry some feelings for him, out of insecurity for their wealth disparity instead of talking about it - leaves his job too when he could have had a solid career there. he lets his controlling wife dictate a lot because he wants to shunt off responsibilities for actions (or lack thereof) so if shit goes whack he can blame her (skyler is an issue too but thats another discussuon). when he gets the cancer and is offered a really lucrative and stable position at GM by his ex and her husband, which would have offered everything the meth situation gave with none of the risk to his family, he didn't take it because of his own egoism yet again. when his own son, who is suffering from his own problems, starts to fundraise for his cancer treatments and try to support him, he treats him like shit and is insecure they're asking for "handouts". not to mention forces booze on him. he sucks.

and people who have Gretchen type money dont usually go around shouting it and showing it off if they have any level of intelligence or class.

>Being insecure has nothing to do with morality.

insecurity can be the driving force that will influence a person to do extremely morally bankrupt things. The Penguin did this too - Oz did all that rotten shit just because he was insecure about his fucked foot and not getting mommy's attention. His morality was deeply inflicted by his inherent insecurity of feeling unneeded and unloved by the people in his life. If Oz's mother had realized the depth of it she could have prevented a lot of tragedy too.

The same applies to Walter, and how his insecurity about his lot in life despite his intelligence and scientific value influences his decision to do stupid shit - No, I will not be the scientific helpers to a bunch of one percenters who got handed everything despite the fact they are less smart than me. Even if they are nice people, they dont DESERVE nice things the way I do. I can build a buisness all on my own. I will control all.

Wasn't it established in the show that they did him dirty in some way by either giving him less money or less credit for the work he put in towards the company/nobel prize, or were unfair in some other way? So why the fuck would Walt accept any money from them later as if they're doing charity out of pity? Who the fuck would in this situation who has any shred of self respect or dignity? This is not an example of a 'Walt bad' situation.
