In retrospect, my teachers had pretty good taste

I ended up becoming a teacher too and just play Disney movies during lunch since kids eat in the classroom and I just play on my phone (half hour break)
The young boys all love the Star Wars prequels but try to lobby me into skipping all of the dialogue heavy scenes.
I also skip a few scenes in Zootopia because Iโ€™m convinced itโ€™s furry propaganda - particularly the โ€˜naturalistโ€™ scene

Holocaust propaganda which was mostly black and white clips of Jews with toes rotting off and stuff like that. Apparently it was mandated by the state that every student see it their sophomore year. In a similar vein, my high school's guidance counselor showed us that scene from ELF where Buddy thinks the Peter Dinklage's character is another elf and pretty much told us that we were like Buddy because we were on the spectrum and couldn't read cues. I could read the cue of her thinking I was a fucking retard just fine, I have aspergers not goddamn downs. It's a funny holiday comedy about a man from (essentially) another culture, how this bitch thought that was a good metric for real world human behavior is beyond me.

>by grade 10 we're absolutely sick of it and make comments and jokes the whole time
>femoid teacher gets pissy and berates us for mocking history
>based historychad kid says the holocaust isn't our history
>later in library hanging out with only teacher we like/respect
>he starts giving us the business because the foid was complaining in the teacher's lounge
>based historychad goes off on a tangent about how the holocaust has nothing to do with WW2 history even if it happened how they say it did because we didn't go to war to save Jews but instead to maintain the British empire by opposing Germany and even if everything they said was true none of those camps existed when Britain declared war and not one western allied soldier set foot in Auschwitz so we have no idea what happened there we just had to take the Soviet Union and Jews words for it so if we are going to be forced to watch fictional propaganda every Remembrance Day it should be about stuff that actually involves Canadians
>teacher admits we have a good point
>ask if that means they'll stop showing is Schindler's List
>he laughs and says that's not how school works

Mr. K was extremely based but depressing. I hope he's doing well.
