It's weird how studios refuse to acknowledge this.
At 80 Indy should be a prestigious retired or semi-retired professional in his field, wearing suits and giving presentations at Museum exhibit openings or consultations for history books. He's not a playboy who refused to grow up. Same with Han Solo, he should have at least grown into SOMETHING more than the sleazy guy sitting in the dark corner of a dive bar. Keeping them the same just nullifies any and all prior character development and turns them into a joke.
