First Blood is Brian Dennehey's movie, not Stallones. Dennehey's acting is perfect as the boomer police chief that is a closet control freak. His dialogue with Troutman about vietnam is so good, best part of the movie. Dennehey's frustration over Rambo is what makes Rambo so scary and powerful in this movie. Stallone hardly says anything, the best dialogue is Denneheys.

I couldn't believe that scene in the third movie where he goes to hunt Rambo down in south east Asia where he's living in some monastery helping out monks and stuff, trying to find some peace in his life, and he tells him he needs to stop fucking around because he's a killing machine from birth and he needs to go to Afghanistan to shoot more people immediately. It's framed like this mindful philosophical moment in the film. Still a kickass movie though.

I bought the book because this is one of my favorite movies but still haven't read it. Something about the ending where Rambo breaks down and admits he can't fit in with normal people and misses his old friends really hits home for me.
