I bet Aragorn was a shitty peace time king. Awesome military leader and all-around good guy but just couldn’t handle the tedium of bureaucracy and administrative duties. He probably wasted a huge portion of the treasury building roads that went nowhere and started social programs that ended up providing nothing but salaries to the employees. Then he had a ton of money minted to cover the shortfalls and caused hyperinflation. Within a decade Gondor was almost totally reliant on cheap imports, causing a massive decline in agriculture and artisan products. He tried to salvage his image by bringing up his war record at every chance but all it did was cause the Gondor press to retort with controversies like beheading Sauron’s diplomatic envoy and those questionable years when he was galavanting around Middle Earth with the elves.

The non-hobbits then began to cause issues and a gang was formed by a disguised Saruman. The rest of the hobbits didn't know how to deal with them and were unable to rid themselves of these orcs. Ultimately Frodo & co then teach the other hobbits how to fight and manage to wipe out all the orcs. I just found it to be interesting.

Because there's an epilogue and an appendix that talk about after he's dead, and his legacy was being a really good king that helped re-order the lands and repair the damage of everything bad that's happened in the last three ages.
He is also, in universe, of a messianic bloodline that has proved itself over countless centuries to produce the guy who will be able to take back the throne and unite the various scattered bits of civilization in the west. The elves were basically all fucking off back to the west with only a scant few remaining behind.
