To be honest, this show isn't very good.
Another bust of the Alien franchise. Only Alien and Aliens are even worth watching, everything else is mediocre.

I don't like the cast.
I don't like the concept.
I don't like the acting.
The only thing I do appreciate is keeping the aesthetics from the original movie around in this series, but even that just raises more inconsistencies with every other Alien movie in existence especially Prometheus and Covenant. Speaking of which, It pains me to say this... but I prefer the world of Prometheus and Covenant to this. At least it's more interesting and characters like David are at least intriguing. None of the characters in Alien Earth are worth shit, I barely even know any of their names, even Wendy's real name I can't think off the top of my head or her brother's name. It's a bad show when you can't even make the main characters memorable.
I'm just not buying any of this, it doesn't interest me and of all the ways to set a show in the Alien universe this is just not a good execution.
Hawley is kind of a hack too, he had some good stuff with Fargo but honestly almost everything else he has done has been hit or miss, and even Fargo was only really great in the first season, maybe some of the second but even most of that season is entirely forgettable, and after that not even worth watching.

Unironically, if you want a sci-fi show to watch right now, Foundation is loads better than this uninteresting shit.

It could be that David introduced this "communication" on certain frequencies as a way to control the xenos (who would otherwise be totally feral). By introducing more intelligence and communication he makes them smarter and more easier to control (by him).
But ALSO, this would mean that the way they communicate is inherently something that a human civilization that produced David would be able to decypher, which is why Wendy can figure it out so fast. While the xeno might be mostly totally alien, the David-influenced parts are something humans can communicate with in a way that can be "decoded".
