I couldn't care less about it, and the reason why I didn't want the show to delve in to it is because it would be a waste of runtime that would just end up not being satisfying anyways. The show seems more concerned with the transhumanism bullshit than the actual alien aspect of the fucking franchise it is on. We all know it'll go to shit, that Prodigy will fail containment. The strongest parts of the show are Morrow (which is being brought down by the kid at the moment) and Kirsch.

Are we even suppose to root for Wendy now? Why? They now put the doubt in the viewers' head of "who gives a shit what happens to her?, she might just be a copy". Joe? He is just the human connection to Wendy. At this point I'm rooting for Morrow to fuck everything up and for Kirsch to sabotage Cavalier for being a little shit.

The show should have just been Prodigy grunts respond to the alien ship crashing, Prodigy higher ups bring the specimens to the Island, Morrow infiltrate and containtment is breached and Prodigy goes under. Lots of deaths, cool alien specimens, Weyland-Yutani coming in to firebomb everything, the end.

Essentially, the parallels between Wendy and Dolores are clearly there. This show should have been 6 episodes. I think 8 was misguided and it would have made the show more straightforward without room to lean over the bullshit they want to lean on. Who knows, maybe it was doomed from the start. What they're doing in Alien Earth is new, with the chirping at the alien (bravo Hawley). It might turn out to be cringe but at least it's something new and cosmic horror relevant. It's not easy to come up with this stuff so it's always a risk, but at least they're trying it.
