It's not that reality can "bend" based on will or that they accept his every word.
It's just that a significant amount of his base and independents know the other side has no relation whatsoever to their objective reality and if they'll even scrape the surface of what they're saying they'll find it's a straight up lie or at best a misdirection leaving out the relevant information.
At some point everyone just starts treating everything they say as a lie, and any institutions who back them gets painted with the same brush.
Meanwhile le Trumpoid is either speaking to their ideas, which is more about general views and feels than facts, or is pointing out some ridiculous shit the other side has done, even if it's just some marginal thing that the Dems don't actually believe in fully, but when doing so they always refuse to take a stand against it making them look fully complicit when he points it out.
The people who have it out for him don't just have zero credibility in the eyes of the people supporting him, they have negative credibility, and their attacks make him look more trustworthy in their eyes.
