the charge of the rohirrim at minas tirith serves as the climax of the world of men storyline. gondor stands alone and rohan arrives too late, and the question of whether men wen will join together or die alone is answered when still they ride straight into the mouth of hell to pull victory from the jaws of defeat. theoden's speech is incredible there, the way he rides along the spearline with his sword, just everything about it makes it the best moment in the series for me, with honourable mentions to gandalf riding out to drive the nazgul off the retreating osgiliath soldiers and also gandalf/eomer arriving at helm's deep.
