Xenomorph being a tadpole seems to say that it just brings everything it needs with it out of the facehugger and doesn't incorporate the host's DNA, the latter always seemed implicit to me.

The showrunner clearly needed to slap an existing IP onto his scifi dystopian retelling of Peter Pan, and I guess Disney picked Alien as the sacrificial lamb.

I didn't expect any attempt to adhere to the shitstorm of a canon the Alien movies have like how Disney Star Wars doesn't care about the EU canon, but you'd at least get Star Wars slop to pay homage to the EU and recycle material from it. This show doesn't attempt any of that.

Yeah, this show is fucking boring and I'm sure it's going to be like the series 'they,' where nothing happens all season till the season finale where they leave you with a cliffhanger and do it for another two seasons.

I am very attracted to Lily Newmark and I'm not sure why. Those eyes and lips put a spell on me. I want her to be my friend, gf, and wife.

Prodigy (read: Kirsh) learned about the xenomorphs from reading the data the original crew of the crashed W/Y explorer ship recorded once they found it and experimented with it. Where and how the W/Y explorer shit found and got the xenomorphs is not known yet.

Show's alright. It's the first Alien related media I've enjoyed since Prometheus. It might even be better than Prometheus, derivative as it is.

At the moment we're being led to believe it's a prequel, but all of the corporate stuff outside of YT is new.

They were terminally ill before they were either transferred into the robots or just outright murdered if the transfer is just an electronic copy. It does however mean that David didnt make the xenomorph, he just reengineered it from the black goo, so it makes the prequels a little better. in my opinion.

Well this is the problem with Alien earth.

If they had made the Alien as dangerous as Ripley thought they were, it makes the whole franchise much better. Conceptually, the idea of Xenos being an intelligent unstoppable planetary cancer that spreads via rape, is much more terrifying than xenos being another bug parasite that can be squashed without much hassle.

I even prefer the prequels idea that the xenomorph is gods weapon against their creation.

Alien earth lowers the stakes too much.

Yes, Ripley was overdramatic, because the xeno had *all* the advantages possible stacked for it, outside of numbers. Alien rightfully showed that an armed and properly informed force would BTFO xenos without much problems. They're essentially a one-time surprise attack trick "weapon" as is one possible implication of the space jockey ship's purpose.
Prometheus also confirmed that xenos are a very old "species", since they are deified and depicted on the engineers' ships and buildings' murals.

Prometheus shows that at least some space jockey/engineer faction deifies the xenos, because they were a way for them to continue procreating/evolving, while another possible faction might have simply considered them convenient and useful bio-weapons, if not possibly tools for "terraforming" purposes via easily "cleansing" the original fauna on a planet.

just about everything in the show is lore rape, and anything that isn't raping the lore is just a midwit addition to make the series' own, unrelated story work within the boundaries of the lore they're pretending to uphold. view it more like high budget fanfiction, with the added, correct, notion that all fanfiction is dogshit. because this show is especially dogshit

It seems to add to the lore rather than screw it up.
It is also NOT a typical alien story. It is closer to bladerunner or cyberpunk show with the style of Alien.

It is also stupid sometimes. Because the brother agreed to work for Prodigy, but he also mentions the aliens that almost killed him are being kept there. It is good for a TV show of the week. It is better than most recent alien movies.
There is a lot of things that might be filler. I’m not sure where the plot is headed.
