I didn't watch S5 onwards because I heard it got woke and they got rid of pilot "Whoa hey there hoss" guy but S1+2 are just vastly superior with the story. I did like Burn Gorman as Murtry in S4 he's always been a kino machine ever since Torchwood

Season 4 was a snoozefest, the rest ranged from good to great, same goes for the relevant books

Btw does anybody have the "gas every belter" image?
Anonymous No.214073813
Season 4 was fine imo

I kept telling him "doors and corners kid, that's where the jannies get you"
Anonymous No.214076058
the books are fine. some just don't translate that well to tv show. i mean it's called adaptation. adapt it. don't try to 1:1 book on screen. pick and choose stuff and make up your own stuff. whatever works.

I dropped it around the time they discovered the ayy gates
Really feel like it lost its uniqueness and became another generic scifi instead

The whole magical alien thing ruined the show

Hope you like the sheboon and her mystery meat kid because that's what you'll spend 70% of the time watching. Half of that will be Naomi crying or breathing heavily in an extreme closeup.

S3 got crunched by having Leviathan's Wake take up half of S2 (worth it to give Miller more time to shine) and thus Caliban's War takes up half of S3, leaving Abbadon's Gate with less total time to tell its story. Even so, they did a good enough job.
S4 was solid enough but the switch to Amazon had an impact, the extra Mars plotline lifted from Gods of Risk took away from the alien planet feeling, and they completely removed Havelock's racist arc.
S5 is an even looser adaptation, the areas they kept most similar to the book - Amos on Earth - are the most enjoyable. They spent too much time on Naomi's family drama and not enough time on all the extra perspectives that the book uses to show how the war affects everyone in the system. There's like 15 POV characters in that book.

they literally erased him from scenes, like characters are still standing with a space in between them where he stood

Drops in quality once Miller doesn't return from a walk with his pet nuke.

All the nine books were great. And the novellas. They're not perfect, but far better than generic star slop like wars and trek. They actually tried to do something different and be grounded for once. Can't wait for the new game even though it's gonna be like mass effect which makes it geared towards normies>>214072932

He was an east asian sex pest. Nothing criminal, just being creepy/pushy with fans at conventions and stuff like that but the studio felt he was a liability after conducting an investigation.
So they had to rewrite the ending of S5 to kill him off using a still frame and some CGI blood to imply a stroke, erase him from group shots, and reshoot one or two scenes with the other actors lamenting his death.

I'm pretty sure he was an Iranian sex pest.
He did contribute heavily to keeping the show from getting cancelled with a fan campaign, which in retrospect would have been a benefit if it had ended there.
But those ungrateful faggots still owed him for having a job post season 3. All he did was cringe text and strike out constantly.

Thinking about the belters is interesting. It makes you consider how in our realistic future space travel, humans may actually change to never be able to live on a planet again, and may come to prefer low/zero gravity even. Maybe future humans would become slendermen with frail skeletons but numerous enough to spread throughout the solar system since it's the only way to sustain living in space long term. And how foreign it would be to them to see an ocean and open sky when you live your whole life on a confined space station

Lol no. He was explicitly trying to hook up with autistic 14 year olds. He was foul about it.
Being aggressively hit on by Alex, who is like a cool old uncle to the crew (he's at least 20+ years older than the rest) would have been terrible. Pretty sure he exposed his inner Indian so bad the show had to get rid of him.

I was having a ok time with later seasons until everyone had space blindness or whatever except one guy, and the "doctor" trying to work out why didn't even ask if he was on any medication.
It was the retarded straw that broke the camel's back.

Not exactly 'woke', but the "Indian Cowboy" pilot person was apparently caught up in some MeToo thing.... and was erased from the show.
