The movie would have been better if the plot was actually a "am I the asshole?" story, because the king's reasoning for why not every wish can be granted are perfectly logical and reasonable, and then you could have what's her name try to make everyone's wishes come true and it causes absolute chaos in the kingdom and then she has to work with the king, who she thought was evil but is actually just trying to hold things together for his people. It would end up being a lot like Encanto but maybe that's not such a bad thing, because it's not like Wish was ever going to win points for originality anyway.
