The premise of To Be Hero X is kind of interesting. Society has a Chinese Social Credit System, but the people with the highest scores get super powers. However those super powers, and even the actions of those people, are dictated by the public perception of them. And just like Social Credit you can lose your powers too if the public turns against you, or just becomes bored with you.

Example. Firefighter saves a girl from a burning building by holding up a collapsed wall. People see the video footage and he instantly becomes a hero gaining super strength, and the mantra to always stand tall no matter the odds. The side effect being he can no longer bend his knees, not even to sit down, bro has to shit standing up now.

Chinese anthology episodic series set in the same universe. I saw some of season 1. It's alright but imo the commentary/satire is a bit heavy handed and the drama even more so. I'm sure it could have some standout episodes though just by its nature.

I love animation, I used to put up with the gay anime tropes and enjoy it for what it was, but after experiencing better stories told more subtly elsewhere like in books, movies or any other shows anime seems way too simplistic. I'm tired of being told what's going on like im 12... then I remember who anime is made for and get bored of it. The Escaflowne movie is good. It has a classic compact story that's told without any pacing issues. People just don't like it, because it's a remix of all characters of the original and the artstyle is almost as hard to get used to as Fukumoto's I like both.
