The Xenomorph is literally the most boring part of the show. And it doesnt help that it's portrayed as a killing machine that only thinks about killing sometimes, but then something that wants to toy with its prey at other points. The showrunners can't make up their minds and the Xeno's behavior bends to the whim of the plot and who has plot armor and who doesnt. The design is also so iconic at this point that there is no tension when it's on screen because we already know everything it is capable of. Enjoyed the episode a great deal. It's essentially Noah Hawley's "Alien" movie. Loved the ticks and the eyeball, everything getting loose at the same time was great.

Hated how they keep jobbing out the Alien. Thing is not menacing at all. And it just looks awful in the bright white lighting. Also the last zoomout shot of the city was bizarre and really against the whole aesthetic of the series.

Yes. In the first movie it was already old when it boards the shuttle with Ripley, you can see that the dome is pitch black.
