The top one actually has scenes that resonate with the audience because they have depth with oments of clarity and emotion. There's not a single scene in Gunnslop like that.

Also, Amanda Waller and her entire team just straight up fall asleep during the climax of Gunnslop just because the plot said so. Literally wrote that her entire team falls asleep while Starro escapes. Kek. Snyder and Ayer wrote better.

Bottom was kinda weird like most James Gunn stuff but competent and embraced the comic book. Top was just a chopped up mess with really no redeeming moments. Don't remember enjoying a single scene in that movie.

Arm-Fall-Off-Boy is from the Legion (they are from the 31st century Gunn), Bloodsport again, nobody cares. Rick Flag looks like his comic version in Gunn's movie but he acts better on the first one.

What is really dumb tho is the including of Harley, even more considering the type of threat they encounter in both movies. She's a lunatic with a bath, even in their worst comics the Waller is smart enough to send people with enough powers to finish the mission.

Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag Jr.) is 45 irl while Frank Grillo is 60. But yeah both look to be in their 50's, Flagg Sr was supposed to have white hair just like in Creature Commandos (picrel) but Gunn said they did screen tests and the white hair looked like shit.

I haven't watched the second movie yet, but the first one caused me to lose all interest in superhero movies.

Cut everybody else. Yes, that means Harley, she's fucking annoying. Same general plot as The Suicide Squad. Deadshot is more of a background/utility character, Rick Flag takes up Bloodsport's role, including the father/daughter relationship with Ratcatcher 2.
Weasel effectively replaces King Shark and similarly befriends Ratcatcher 2, and her rats.
Flag's death plays out the same way, but instead of Peacemaker being confronted and "killed" he simply escapes, only being stopped by Boomerang who witnessed the fight, but makes no attempt to stop him, only mouthing off a few melodramatic Australian words of wisdom which, along with Flag's dying quote, continue to haunt the character into his titular TV series.

Second movie is the exactly same shit. There are some moments that work like John Cena and Idris Elba trying to outsmart each other, that was funny. But everything else is just the same with some different characters that are just too similar (like King Shark instead of Croc), villain (Starro, who make minions just like Incubus did) and a lot of pop songs, but everything now is coated in Gunn's saturated colors and edgy jokes.
