Brainiac is revealed to be the big DCU villain at the end of the movie. He employed Lobo to hunt down Supergirl but Lobo fails, setting up Brainiac to take a more hands-on approach in the future. Brainiac also learns of Earth and the heroes there. Most of the movie takes place off Earth, which explains why Superman and the Justice Gang don't intervene and help. Krypto has roughly the sane amount of screentime as he did in Superman. A few Green Lanterns appear and Martian Manhunter is referenced. No mention of Darksied. Superman does appear, but not in a big role. He mentions putting together a group of like-minded individuals to defend Earth but Supergirl literally calls it lame and decides to do her own thing while remaining on Earth. Story revolves around Supergirl realizing that she can't just live for herself and that being a constant party girl isn't what she should be doing. That's just about all I know.

Also, WB and Gunn have been talking about avoiding the "girl boss" trope, instead they're just focusing on good action and a fun story. No feminist messaging is apparently the goal.

Brainiac doesn't interact with Supergirl or any other heroes in this movie. He talks to Lobo after Lobo is defeated and refuses to pay him so that Lobo can become an anti-hero in the future. He's going to built up like Thanos was in the MCU, at least that's the current plan from what I gather.

Current plan is for Lobo to be beaten in a huge fight scene that spans an entire alien solar system. Supergirl spends most of the movie running from him to avoid a conflict till the end.

Once you introduce fucking Brainiac, you can’t have Batman going back to beating up small-time psychos like Two-Face, Penguin, or Riddler: his whole rogues’ gallery is street-level, nowhere near Justice League-tier threats.

And with Superman, if you blow your load on Brainiac this early, what’s left? He’s supposed to build up through guys like Metallo, Parasite, or Toyman before taking on cosmic-level shit.

Would be a killer saga. I know all of these have basically been adapted at one point or another but all of them have been lacking. The animated ones just don't have the same excitement as live action and the live action ones have strayed too far from the source.

Having a consistent cast and creative team make a series like this over 10 years would be so good.

Reeves desperately wanted The Batman to be its own thing, but Gunn and DC were against that. The compromise they reached is that The Batman movies are going to be revealed to have taken place before Superman even appeared in this world, so they can be their own "standalone" series. We've already fast tracked number 3, and the script is actually being worked on at the moment. WB does not want another length of time similar to the one that's happened before The Batman 2. Expect the big reveal at the end of The Batman 3 to be Superman's appearance for the first time in that world.

What a corny fucking page. No cop would arrest Batman or anyone else for murdering the Joker. The Joker canonically kidnapped kids. He canonically murdered Gordon's wife. He canonically shot Batgirl in her torso and then sexually brutalized her so he could photograph the incident and taunt her father. He took a crowbar and he beat Robin, a child, to death in front of his mother while giggling like a madman. He rapes women just because he can. He detonated a glass bomb over the city, crippling and murdering hundreds of people. He ascended to godhood and he murdered literal billions of people via cannibalism. He once tortured Batman so badly that Batman was literally comatose and incapable of functioning until the memories were the torture were removed from him. This all happened in the CANON timeline of the DC universe. This CANON Batman also saw the world of Injustice where the Joker kidnapped a pregnant Lois Lane and then tricked Superman into killing her by disgusting her as Doomsday. When Lois' heart stopped, a literal nuke went off and wiped the Metropolis, along with the literal millions of people in it off the face of the Earth.
Batman is AWARE of this. Gordon is AWARE of this. Yet both of them still run around sprouting this if you kill him, you're just as bad as him. I get it. You can't kill Joker because he sells too many comics and movies. But for fucksake, don't insult my intelligence by telling me that the heroes would be the bad guys crossing some arbitrary line you made up if they kill that degenerate.
