I'm still cackling about that model in Clash Of The Titans (2010) who played the mother of Perseus in the flashback, the wife of the then-king, and she has ONE fucking line: "Zeus?!". And yet her delivery is SO bad. You had one job! Was this really the best take?

Bresson exclusively used models instead of actors and never re-used any from one film to the next. He essentially believed all acting is overacting, and that actors are only capable of "seeming" while models can achieve a state of "being" that is only possible if you aren't trained to act. He explains his process in his book Notes on the Cinematograph - it's a great read.

A bad actor can't act believably, a good actor can, but it's a lot easier to just get somebody to act as their normal self, then they don't have to act at all and it seems a lot more natural
