China's extension is towards the east coast while Russia's expansion is towards the West. That border that they share is shit and Russia already gave concessions in that border. China's interest is towards Asia while Russia is towards the Baltic states. Their interests are not colliding with each other.

One doesn't follow from another. You can have weak country with all key assets still being secured (see Venezsuela, or Assad's Syria for example, meme-tier countries, yet as long as regime is running, all assets were secured, oil, gold, drugs).
