Yes kind of, though I think they become less cringey in later seasons.
Early in the series the monologues show how Dex thinks of himself as more of an edgy outcast weirdo than he really is

I liked the first few episodes of season 7 focusing on deb trying to come to terms with dexter and debating turning him/rehabing him, and then dexter stalking ray speltzer. Turns into a slog once hannah shows up but the finale was pretty good as well. Sirko would have been better if stevenson didn't have to abruptly leave and get written out
