I would wholeheartedly support public transport and walkable cities if acting up, littering, graffiti, playing loud music and any schizo nonsense in any public area or carriage was met with immediate removal, and not the kind where the offender just gets a slap on the wrist and returns to his normal routine immediately.
If this is not possible I would go straight for the second best scenario which is a nice house and car in an inaccessible fortress suburb.
Public transport/walkable cities are an issue of atmosphere, trust and culture. It only takes one or two retards to completely ruin the vibe of a space to everyone's detriment and humiliation. You have to deal with troublemakers first before people are ready to invest in shared spaces.
