No, I have not recovered. Before TMSON, I thought Chase was a genius filmmaker.
TMSON made me abandon the "Tony gets shot" "all the clues are there" theory. It hinges on Chase being an intelligent, coherent, and highly detailed filmmaker like Kubrick, yet his film retcons, contradicts, and forgets almost every aspect of the show it touches upon. He couldn't even get scenes that were already shown as flashbacks right. So it makes no sense that he made S6 as a subtly foreshadowed, meticulously planned leadup to a shooting scene. All the "clues" are just red herrings like the Russian or the fortune teller. Ending theories give him too much credit, he just made the most contentious ending in history then started leaning into audience theories to make himself look good.

>Second half of the movie was basically about some racial riots
The riots are in the first 20 minutes of the movie, then they're completely forgotten. I don't know why people keep saying he was only shoehorning The Sopranos into a Newark Riots film. The riots are barely in it at all. It's more of a peak woke era movie that has nothing to do with its claimed subject matter. It's not about The Sopranos, and it's not even about the riots. I don't see how his cuck fantasies represent the historical reality of race relations back then, so it's not even about that. It's so shitty you'd think AI wrote it, but that still wouldn't explain all the other failed choices made in the film.
