If you consider cheating on your girlfriend with her adopted daughter (who’s technically an adult) wrong then yes he did something wrong. Did he do anything illegal? Not in this case.
The courts cleared him from the other “wrong” thing he’s alleged to have done, which is sexually abuse his adopted daughter when she was a child. Honestly, he was weirdly over-affectionate with her but he never hid it (which is how we have eyewitness testimony) and the “memories” that Dylan has are chronologically impossible (sort of like saying you spoke with Ronald Reagan in 2008, or watched the last episode of Friends when you were a high school senior in 2001).

One last thing I’ll note is that pedos usually have pedo tendencies/urges all their life. You’ll read about some 40 year old guy arrested for molesting an 11 year old who has a string of convictions going back to when he was 17 years old and molested a 9 year old. If Woody was a child molester it would’ve come out long before the ‘90s.

It is one thing to not mention the age-gap at all in a movie, like in Hitchcock films where the men were usually twice the age of the women. But Woody made it an actual part of the story that his middle-aged character was dating a girl who was still in high-school.
