There's a surprisingly large amount of actors who wanna be singers/musicians also
>Bruce Willis
>Steven Segal
>Ryan Gosling
>Billy Bob Thornton
>Funny how most of these at this point have been Blues music, odd
>Jared Leto (surprisingly the most successful)
>Kevin Spacey who made an entire movie just so he could release an album
>Don Johnson
>David Hasselhoff who was a mega star cause of his performance during the fall of the Berlin Wall
>Eddie Murphy with Party All The Time but also that weird reggae song
>Rick Springfield, who actually might be ahead of Jared Leto

In 2010, Cera contributed mandolin and backing vocals to the Weezer song "Hang On" from their album Hurley.[82] Cera has also established himself as the touring bass player in Mister Heavenly, an indie rock band originating in the American northwest,[83] and is a member of the band The Long Goodbye, along with Clark Duke.[84] Cera also played bass and sang back up during songs in both Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. He released his full-length debut album True That on August 8, 2014, through his official Bandcamp page.[85][86] The album features 19 original tracks, a cover of Roderick Falconer's "Play It Again" as well as a cover of Blaze Foley's "Clay Pigeons."[87]

In early 2015, Canadian musician Alden Penner released "Meditate", a track from his upcoming EP Canada in Space, which features Cera. Penner subsequently announced that the EP would be released on June 29, 2015, on City Slang records, as well as a European tour of the UK, Netherlands, France, and Germany, which featured Cera as both co-headliner and member of Penner's backing band.[88][89] The song "Best I Can" from the film Dina, written and performed by Cera and featuring Sharon Van Etten, was nominated for 'Best Song in a Documentary' at the 2017 Critics' Choice Documentary Awards.[90]

And he's not Jewish, which was a surprise.

Rick Springfield is a rock star who has done a few acting roles.

What I'm wondering is, who walks the line the most? Madonna did a couple movies, hit everyone still thinks of her as musician. Kevin Bacon might cut an album with his brother, but everyone still thinks of him as an actor. Is there any celebrity so perfectly in the middle you wouldn't be able to immediately place them as one or the other? Barbara Streisand? Frank Sinatra? Will Smith?

Everyone in "A Complete Unknown"
It's actually funny because Bob Dylan's a shit harmonica player and an awful vocalist and Joan Baez has an annoying voice but the actors playing them are generally better singers and Chalamet can't fuck up harmonica like Dylan. Ed Norton plays his own banjo as Pete Seeger. Everyone is playing their own instruments. And the best part is Chalamet plays Dylan as a pretentious asshole not a visionary. He starts in again for the third time with his "you know, I rode with a traveling carnival" anecdotes and Baez (who's just fucked him) says "you're so full of shit, that never happened did it."

Danish actress, with some Russian and Gypsy blood in her too.

Rock musician/vocalist from the 00s and 10s who was also a fitness model and transitioned into acting. She didn't get further than B-movie flicks. But she's fun and has a nice energy in some roles. Has a few good performances too. Hell Hath No Fury, Cold Meat.

She became involved with Daniel Bernhardt, the stuntman/choreographer guy who is a part of the 87Eleven crew (John Wick etc). Neither of them have publicly confirmed it, but it's super clear from everything that they are dating. They clearly spend a ton of time together and aren't hiding it. I suppose Daniel is divorced? Some sources list a (different) wife of many years.

Daniel also has been placing Nina into some of his recent films, in small roles, where possible. She was in a boring Aaron Eckhart action movie in a small role where Daniel plays the bad guy. She's in the upcoming Deathstalker in an (apparently also small) role where Daniel plays Deathstalker.

Jared Leto has a significant fanbase completely outside of his acting.
Barbara Streisand is probably very close to what you're describing.
Will is one of the few to transition completely, he walked that line at one point, but I think most people just see him as an actor now.
Brie Larson was a not very popular musician at one point in time.

>>214259938
I think despite everything most people still see Cher mostly as a musician. At least these days.

What's interesting is that the most succesful stories (aside from Leto) seem to be musician turned actor, never actor turned musician. Unless you count former Disney actresses who get shilled as popstars.

Stranger Things guy, Joseph Quinn.
I watched his hands closely, and he appears to be actually playing the right parts.
I think he really can play Master of Puppets for real except for after the 2nd solo where it goes ham and you see they dont show his face anymore and probably used a guitarist hand double at that point

btw he seems to be downpicking the whole thing (takes twice the amount of arm-twisting energy than alternating up/down picking but results in a chunkier sound). that's how it should be played but it's tiring without immaculate technique

to this day he lies about it and claims "lol we were just trolling" but he was just a part of that clique of Gen X actors who wanted street cred and presented themselves as "punk" or "grunge" or whatever cliche was on offer at the mall that day

here's his garbage band being introed by Rikki Rachtman, another Gen X wannabe, and getting booed off the stage. he spent decades keeping this footage offline and finally gave up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZhmfC1qL6w

Made his name with musicals both at Broadway than at MGM during Mayer's last years ("Annie Get Your Gun", "Show Boat", "Calamity Jane", "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"), transitioned to a second-grade Western actor with cabarets and summer stock theater on the side when his signature roles dried up in the 1960s-70s, then he revived his career with Dallas (from guest star to be part of the main cast for a decade) that also lead to his first studio album at the age of 64.
