Dolores turning into Cortana from Halo 5 and Maeve becoming the de facto protagonist. Shit should have died with dignity with season 1.

I've never seen a show drop off in quality from season 1 to subsequent seasons as Westworld.

it was originally a six episode miniseries with jimmy simpson as the main character and the story was just his experiences in the park. but since WB was getting bought again they insisted it be laden with a-list actors and extended to five seasons.

This. It became overall smarmy and almost impressively boring. Plus overplaying the whole
>well if HE's actually a replicant, maybe THIS OTHER GUY could be a replicant too!
schtick.

And these weren't biologics like in Jurassic Park; the lack of technical safeguards really strained suspension of disbelief. It's kind of like watching The Walking Dead, and you're like OK, zombies, that's a familiar trope, I can accept this premise.... but then all of sudden they introduce AMWF, something so ridiculous that it spoils any pretense of worldbuilding.

Season 2 was still kind of enjoyable (emphasis on kind of), but I couldn't even finish the first episode of season 3, and season 4 from what I read wasn't much better either.

Anyways, Person of Interest and the first two seasons of Westworld are so far Jonathan Nolan's (and Ramin Djawadi's) best kino.

They prioritised feminism and girlbosses over everything.

>Don't you feel bad for women, and indigenous women? Look how men treat women. Isn't it bad how we've been treating women?!
Even if I did... these things aren't fucking human.

They literally had Maeve become OP in 1 scene. I couldn't watch anything after season 2. That was one of the first shows that made me start noticing all the girlboss crap

Pretty much this. I couldn't imagine she would become the main character. She wasn't a particularly interesting or compelling one, and once I realized the show was going to follow her dumb story and we were supposed to sympathize with a cunty robot I knew the show was doomed. And it was.

Last 2 seasons made it hard to relate to anyone. Like a lot of newer shows, it's almost just a vehicle for spreading and propagating the globo-homo multi-culti 21st century vision of the new artificially constructed diverse metropolitan populace. The showrunner's may not even be consciously intending to do so... I think a lot of them are so hopelessly mind-broken they just act as unwitting conduits for globohomo propaganda slop whether they realize it or not.

It turned into that toward the end of S1 honestly. All that shit about "this park isn't for them, it's for us". The show uses the exact same simulated emotionalism in robots as DBH to trick the viewer into buying into a bunch of scenes, and that isn't a coincidence.

Pseud media about robots doesn't understand that awareness of being a machine is a fundamental requirement for a machine to be considered self-aware. If the machine needed to have its mechanical nature revealed to it, it obviously isn't a self-aware entity in the first place by definition. Similarly a robot that behaves as though it knows all of its outward emotions are fake could be self-aware, whereas a robot that acts as though it believes its emotions aren't fake is certainly just a stupid, non-sentient algorithm.

Everything to do with Maeve was a huge mistake, but even without her, the series became so fucking retarded in S3 and 4. At least with S2 I wasn't bored.

I suspect all the Maeve stuff was added in last minute and she never actually interacts with other characters other than the badly written retards that give her domain admin.

Westworld S2 was kino and I am sick of people shitting on it
the highs were of superb quality, top tier

>Testing for fidelity scenes with that scottish actor
>Teddy being changed and blowing his brains out in front of Dolores
>The man in black making it through the world, having some good scenes and dialogues, then he meets his daughter and kills her
>Logan the spoiled rich son scenes were great too, the actor really killed it
>The native indian episode wandering, finding the shutdown host of his love while nirvana piano rendition plays

The lows were bad, boring
>Maeve drudgery through the tedious shogunworld
>Bernand doing some discovering nobody gives 2 shits about
or whatever else was there...

But S2 is way better than it gets credit

it shouldn't take too long to tell a story and some american tv series are just dragging on and the audience knows it.
- 1 or 2 seasons and end it well
- 7+ seasons and you're not done and risking cancellation

many such cases

That was the real death of the show. S1 is interest, S2 starts to have more dragged out eps. Last season sort of brings it all back and least it's interesting again. Yet everything Delores turns to a brutal yawn fest.
I get the whole emotional off robot crap but it wasn't interest to watch. I still think new viewers should plow past all the seasons. Being part of what angers first run viewers is ok this is what I get after a year?? Streaming or bootleg and you hang out the entire series in a few weekend that really tempers the feelings of it being too drawn out.
