humans are infinitely renewable and readily available

its the best movie ever made about determinism, ultimately leaning toward the universe being hard-deterministic in nature, leaving a tiny amount of ambiguity, and ending on the idea that while free will may be illusory, the illusion is so strong that one may be able to use it to nudge that deterministic nature, as paradoxical as that may sound. Its fantastical of course but its a beautifully even-handed, even motivational, view of reality, saying that even if our universe is most likely deterministic, the slightest bit of unknown in that is enough to feel as though you are changing it, and maybe that feeling, when harnessed, is all you really need to be "in control"
