>Imagine growing up without ever having felt loved.
Unlike the vast majority of Americans, I grew up in a very loving and intact family that seriously loves me. I'm White, good-looking, and in decent shape despite being a manlet at 5' 7". And yet I still ended up with nothing outside of my family, money, and education as a result of things that were about a 1/3 in my control and 2/3 not. They are the only people that have ever loved me, and that is likely to be the case for the rest of my life.
>Or even more importanly, loved someone else
I had a GF once, she was 17 and I was 20. We were together for a few months before it all fell apart largely due to my own decisions and inexperience. I loved her but couldn't communicate that to her, while circumstances in my life at the time made it really difficult and later as I would find out impossible for me to stay together with her. In retrospect, she was pretty much my soulmate, but I fucked it up and now I'm spirited away to where I am now.

Not prioritizing my own pleasure/well-being with regards to friends and love and instead pursuing educational and financial security/independence is the biggest reason I'm still alone.

what random bitch? I have been together with my wife for almost 10 years.

as I have said, it is more about caring about someone else, especially outside the family. this whole part of pretending to be parents / household is why girls mature earlier, being interested in playing with dolls at an early age. at some point a boy also needs to mature. simply bringing food to the table does not cut it. of course you need to show you will take responsibility. that is what pre-marital relationships are good for. practice. I have never said the complete opposite of hookup culture is good.

that became so bad due to tinder, not because of teen flics which have been around since the 70s (Lemon Popsicle and such).

I guarantee you it's an extremely small minority of girls/women my age that are seriously interested in being parents or having kids. They hopped on birth control the second they turned about ~14 and then became terminally online in a different but equally toxic way the guys did.
>you need to show you will take responsibility
Are you a femanon? It certainly didn't help, and it was the logical endpoint of that boomer, free-market sex mentality. I'd recommend you read picrel if you want a redpill about that from back in the day (1994).

I have read two novels from Houllebecq. He was a grifter of frustrated young men decades before Sam Hyde or Jordan Peterson. You are doing no favors for yourself parroting his worldview. Just like with with the other manosphere types they only give feel-good "advice" meant to shift the blame for own shortcomings onto others and feel good about yourself. Even worse, to stop improving yourself or improving the wrong things. Turns out, simple solutions like washing your penis or going to gym do not increase chances of finding a girl significantly. What most incels lack is confidence and putting themselves into situations where they can meet women. In other words, humility and courage to expose yourself (as your true character) and be judged. Courage to handle a rejection, because of course an incel will be rejected by most women. And blaming society and all women in general for those rejections is not handling it, it is poisoning your mind and becoming toxic, thus further worsening your chances of finding a partner. Seriously, get out of that rabbithole.

NTA, but first of all I feel sad for you anon. I'm not american, so maybe there is some cultural difference as well and also probably a bit older than you, idk if I'm considered a zoomer, turning 27 in a couple of days.
The other anon is right. Doing everything in your power to get a girlfriend or hook up with a girl in HS is not meaningless sex. It is a rite of passage and contributes greatly to a young man's life. Experiencing teenage love is maybe one of the most important steps that leads to emotional maturity later in life. Basically american pie is about this.
I like it because I can relate. In my hs class, we were mostly a bunch of fucking nerds (advanced math specialty class) and still 2/3 of the boys had girlfriends and had sex by the time we graduated. For the rest it came in college. Guess what, none of us turned out to be a promiscous degenerate, some of us are married by now and have kids and the list of those is expanding rapidly
>Not prioritizing my own pleasure/well-being with regards to friends and love and instead pursuing educational and financial security/independence is the biggest reason I'm still alone.
Now I'm just sad for you anon, but this is copium. Normal people don't have to prioritize friends and love to have them. It just happens. You just find friends and you just find a girl with whom you just kind of gravitate towards each other until you become a couple. You don't have to tryhard to have these. Do you know what people don't like? Those who pretend to be so fucking focused on their education/job/hustle that they just so happen to not have time for anything right now. How was Houllebecq a "grifter of frustrated young men" decades before the internet or modern terminally online culture war niggerism, he wasn't even American or young for that matter. That book was simply an observation of the direction society was going judging by trends he was estimating, which turned out to be prescient.
>manosphere types they only give feel-good "advice" meant to shift the blame for own shortcomings onto others and feel good about yourself
Most "manosphere" types are either bootstrap mentality shills pushed by the system like JP or they're glorified niggers like Tate pushing an edgier version of that.
>putting themselves into situations where they can meet women
Except there's literally no situation or third place present anywhere where you can meet women anymore. It's not socially acceptable nor commonplace to do so lest you be branded as a predator or pervert by some bitch at bookstores, work, gyms, or bars. Pretty much the biggest reason I'm going back to college is so I can be in one of the only socially acceptable environments to meet women left before I'm doomed to be some sad lonely fuck for the rest of my life.

Houllebecq has always been putting on a show. Do you think the greasy clothes he wears for interviews are what he truly is like at home, being a millionaire? He is not wrong in what he is saying, but he is not providing any solutions. Or his audience refuses to listen and just takes his stories to enrage itself
>Pretty much the biggest reason I'm going back to college is so I can be in one of the only socially acceptable environments to meet women left before I'm doomed to be some sad lonely fuck for the rest of my life.
Are you schooler from /adv/? It might be easier in college but only if you take the opportunities right from the beginning. No girl will magically come to you if you dont do extracurricular activities etc
>Most women in the U.S interpret this as weakness
Nobody said anything about being emotional. Just be yourself without trying to be cool so you could shrug off the rejection as "she rejected my avatar, not me". Of course not telling on the first date you are a virgin is ok, just dont pretend to be a Chad.
>Except I can't even find the women to reject me in the first place ANYWHERE. I'm in the urban Southwestern U.S.

>Experiencing teenage love is maybe one of the most important steps that leads to emotional maturity later in life.
I had COVID fuck over my Junior and Senior years of HS where that stuff would happen. I also moved my freshman year to my HS so I had no friendgroups or connections to anyone there and had to make it all from scratch. I only have two people I'd still consider friends from my HS days that I still talk to, and one of them lost contact with me a year ago and the other is thousands of miles away.
>it came in college
I signed up for college next spring because of that. I got my associates and gen eds out of the way after HS, but all the classes there were mostly online and nobody was there to interact with each other at all. Maybe it's an American thing, idk. But my college years as a result were very introspective, quiet times for me where I was either with myself or at work.
>some of us are married by now and have kids and the list of those is expanding rapidly
You're definitely exceptional then. Outside of the very religious nobody, and I mean nobody are having kids here.
>Normal people don't have to prioritize friends and love to have them. It just happens.
Maybe it's from COVID or me moving around a lot, but no matter what I could never get any real friends anywhere I went or anything I did. I even got a little blackpilled because I asked for a number from a coworker the other day I really liked hanging out with, and he basically gave me a long no in spite of this. I got my last GF was a result of that (she was the ex-girlfriend of a female coworker I was friendly with), but I just haven't been able to do anything since.
>pretend to be so fucking focused on their education/job/hustle
I have to actually be on that East Asian grindset because I'm a White American and you get no gibs or help from anyone other than your family, and if they're not rich you've got to slave away to have a shot at maybe owning a house and getting a good job.

That is my intention. I'm pretty much going to dedicate my life to college shit over the next 5 years and maybe rest of my life if I get a job at a University, so I'll have plenty of opportunities to do so I will take.
>Just be yourself without trying to be cool
Yeah, but myself is the dark, quiet stoic type that's considered "scary" or "weird" for younger women. Literally the F. Scott Fitzgerald stereotype of the cerebral Celt. So I always have to put on a facade anyways, though my last GF was as I said a rare exception because she was of the same demographic profile.
>move somewhere else
Anon, you can't just "move somewhere else" in the U.S given how expensive housing and rent is. I intend on moving back to Minnesota after I graduate with my aforementioned friend to get a place while I study for my Master's and get a job at the university to get my residency.
>rural areas
Rural areas in the U.S have been hit extremely hard by drug abuse for the past decade. I'm not exaggerating when I say the opioid problem in the U.S is at Vodka in 90s urban Russia levels of desperation and sadness for the current rural U.S.
