I watched it on a free movie website from a camrip. I laughed a couple of times but I also groaned many more times. This movie to me is like what Good Burger 2 is. It excels when it does things like the original in terms of timing, joke setup, etc. and fails when it tries to reference the modern audience and current humor standards.

Some of it was straight up ripped off from other things like the Austin Powers tier dog sex through a window joke.

Obviously Naked Gun is a very different kind of movie and he is just giving a bad answer because he doesn’t have a real one.

No, I'd classify The Substance as a comedy because the entire premise is farcical and becomes increasingly absurd and over the top as it goes on, with the last act being a big punchline.

The Fly isn't tonally comedic, it's more of a sad tearjerker

i thought it was okay. not horrible, not great. i think the casting was the worst part, everyone in this movie is a senior citizen. i understand that leslie was pretty old when the original came out, but still, it could have used some younger faces.

I like it alright, it was better than I thought it was gonna be. The last 15 minutes dragged for a bit, but it coulda been way worse.

Pamela Anderson was the real problem. The rest are whatever. It's not even a problem that the lead actress is old. The problem is that they repeatedly talk about her like she's some supermodel bombshell and not a borderline geriatric aged senior citizen

It had some decent visual gags but it still lacks the soul from the original. Even the third Naked Gun is better than this and that was the worst in the series

They try to make a joke early on about how "I don't know if I should be a reboot or be just like you", with the obvious answer being "be just like you". There are some pretty funny scenes, but it lacks the extended sequences of fun and chaos that really defined Naked Gun. The best jokes are during action sequences, unironically.
