As a Canadian, I think it's the opposite. Everyone, especially the US, shit on Canada for what seems like no reason, especially since we're basically an irrelevant country with a small population. It was more a parody of the Swinging 60s style than James Bond. Sort of the ultimate contrast to what was popular in the late-90s and early-00s when the movies were made. You put a guy dressed like Connery into the 1990s he looks well dressed. You put a guy dressed like Austin Powers in the 90s and he looks garish.

According to wikipedia, Austin Powers' look was inspired by pic related, a long forgotten British spy show that only had a couple of seasons.

Dealer doesn't "play" the game or try to beat players. He just follows fixed rules, hits until he reaches 17 or above or bust. It doesn't matter how many players there are or what their hands are.

If you have 5, your friend is 20 and the dealer gets 19, he will stay there. He won't hit and try to draw a 2. Your friend will win and you will lose your hand
