Anyone else batistamaxxing irl after this?

i walked into a station with a binder full of notes on a case i’ve been following for months. like timelines, photos, printouts of phone records i pulled off some telegram site. i straight up told the desk guy i was here to β€œassist the investigation” and he just waved me back.
next thing i know i’m in the passenger seat of a squad car while they’re running plates. i kept pointing out cars like β€œthat’s him, i’ve seen that honda circle the block three times” and they actually wrote it down.
the weirdest part is nobody questioned it. not once. i had a suit on and a cheap leather briefcase and they just assumed i was legit.

What do you mean "rent a yacht". But anyway he got a lot of inheritance from Harry and maybe something from his biological father. At least the house they clean up and probably then sell?

And his pay isn't probably bad because he's a super expert just below Masuka and he has no expensive or at least normie hobbies.

Slice of Life was sold to Dexter by a shrink who helped a millionaire/future Dexter victim to get away scotfree. He wanted to sell his old boat because he was rich now and didn't need that old shit anymore.

Both of his (foster) parents are dead, meaning he has the full inheritance from Harry (in the form of a fully paid off house in Miami)
The "yacht" was also gifted to him from Camilla. I think it's off-handedly mentioned once in season 1 but it's re-confirmed in Original Sin.
He also probably steals cash from his victims.

But I guess we'll see something like it as he tracks down people in the files he recovered. He might have to go overseas to do that, probably will.

I'd also be stoked to see 'The Trial Of The Bay Harbor Butcher', but that would be very much 'this is the very final season ever' material.

10 years ago it was still the east coast beachside city that presented this idea of glitz and glam, despite the very seedy underbelly.
Now... I don't think anyone still sees Miami as a glitzy place full of rich people and supermodels in bikinis. It's got a very notable reputation tied to its position in the heart of Florida. And Florida itself has become a huge meme that's not much better than India at this point.

It's clear that Dexter is an important ip to them. It's not hard to make something else that hits the same notes. When Dexter originally finished they followed it up with Ray Donovan. I'm not going to pretend that show was any sort of masterpiece but it was pretty perfect as a follow up

It's not difficult to write a hundred shows that would hit those same notes and be successful.

Dexter came out at a particular time in the cultural zeitgeist when it was fine to portray a villain as sympathetic. Without that element it really loses a lot. >You don't need serial killers, just 'damaged' protagonists who end up killing a lot of 'bad' people as a result of whatever dumb shit they got themselves into.
It can't just be that, they also need to kill some good people. Dexter had to kill Doakes. He had to be planning to kill other good people who were onto him, even if he didn't go through with it, it had to feel like he might.

Btw the first half of Resurrection had some stuff I liked, for example how the Dark Passenger and Dexter both shared the strangulation in backseat method without knowing of each other. And didn't one guy, Tattoo Remover or something, actually try to make a believable knock out by stalking someone and then putting the hospital gas mask on their face? That would actually work in seconds if they kept still enough. I don't know why not just take them on the knockout hold from behind at that point because that's also 10 seconds or less but okay.

Given that Harrison will presumably continue to work at the hotel in the upcoming season, it's too early to say that she's been forgotten. The writers seem to enjoy Harrison relationship drama, so I would not be surprised if season two has Harrison having to choose between the two roastoids. Either that or she gets the Barbra treatment
>Harrison on the phone

There's no way Dexter won't be placed in FBI's top 10 most wanted fugitives after this

They'll probably investigate Prater's mansion and find something that will stick against Dexter and other serial killers that have been there. Also, Batista left a bunch of evidence against Dexter/Harrison at his place. He even took a photo of Dexter and Prater together on his phone that he was going to show the cops, but didn't (I think).

I guess they had to subvert that expectation similar to how they subverted Lady Vengeance being the new Lila, which I liked btw. The subversion I mean. Dexter didn't need to have a new love interest again so that part they did right. It opened more time for the black family which grounded him more to the normal routine tho it didn't go anywhere yet.

OS was average but never really good so 5/10 and did not hate but will likely not watch again. I guess I give NB the same, average but never watching again. The tits and Kurt were kind of cool.
